Description

Jutta Fedderson's 'Untitled' was a domestic commissioned work that has a rich texture, rendered in burnt orange stitched and woven jute. The work is stitched to create flowing, organic patterns, suggestive of a desert landscape. Fedderson has explained that she has employed the same technique in the creation of 'Untitled' as in her work that resides at the Sydney Opera House. Fedderson was born in Germany in 1939, and migrated to Australia at the age of 26. Much of Feddersen's work centres on her feelings of displacement, and lack of belonging.
