Description

'The Bunkhouse Orchestra (On Peel Street)' is a three dimensional mixed media assemblage of a raft of musicians singing and performing on a stage with a cityscape backdrop. The work draws parallels to the buskers that perform along Peel Street during the Country Music Festival, and to The Strutt Sister's own musical involvement in the folk music scene. A clever application of colour is a Strutt signature; this work uses different shaped cut out panels in discordant and analogous colours and a range of patterns to great effect, creating an eye-catching and multilayered piece that draws the viewer in to take a closer look.
