Description
‘Waterhole Plumthorpe’ was painted specifically for the Burdekin family of ‘Plumthorpe’, Barraba; of whom Will Ashton was an acquaintance. Oil on canvas, it is a characteristic example of his impressionist landscapes. The waterhole and vegetation are warmed by the light Ashton captured so effectively with his brush and palette.
