Description

Maggie Taylor's 'Lovers in a Boat' is an intricate cotton tapestry, miniature in scale. The scene depicted is of a nude couple reclining in a row boat, on a body of blue water. Blue sky, green country and red flowers comprise the surrounding landscape. The work is abundant in charm and whimsy, which is characteristic of Taylor's work. The minute detail is indicative of Taylor's high level of skill in the medium of tapestry weaving.
