Description
'Supper for Nine' is a delightful, exquisitely worked miniature tapestry. Maggie Taylor has created a whimsical and humorous depiction of life's simple pleasures in a naïve style. Made from 100 per cent mercerised cotton, this work captures an interior domestic scene where the everyday is celebrated. A woman is busily preparing a long table for dinner, while a rowdy, shirtless man is drinking liquor from a bottle in the background. Also present in the scene is a cat, household items such as a broom, chairs and a roaring fire in a fireplace, as well as a row of washing drying on a clothesline.
